Not a safe ride for motorbikes as lots of loose debris and small rocks to slide on. I know this as we witnessed such crash today. Rider is more than a little bruised but she's ok!

The hike to Russell falls was a easy to medium hike that has quite a few steps which may pose an issue for some but plenty of people of all ages seen managing this.

Spectacular! The main trail here is the Lady Barron Falls Circuit Track, but most visitors opt to do only the first portion which goes to the main attraction, Russell Falls. It's not a long walk and the falls are spectacular (much more impressive than they appear in photos).

Excellent spot for picnics, short walks. Has a cafe if you aren't up for a picnic. Large open grass areas, Day use areas with Barbecues (need a parks pass which you can get at Visitor Centre on site if you don't have one). Nice drive to Lake Dobson if you have a vehicle with a bit if clearance for the trail (you can stay in huts and can get snow certain times of year). The river runs around the Day use areas. Can fish and get the odd trout! Bit of a mission from Hobart but perfect for a day trip and well worth the drive. Russell Falls walk is short and very picturesque.

After this you will come to Lake Dobson Road. You can take this back to the main building or continue on the trail to Lady Barron Falls. We opted for falls. It was a long walk with a lot of stairs to climb at the end.

Had a great time at the national Park. Went to Russell falls, horseshoe Falls and then to Dodson lakes.

We did the falls and tall trees loops. Loved the feeling you get when you are in the thick forest with nobody else around. Huge trees and some great falls. We stayed in the park run camp site near the trail heads. Bathroom was great but kitchen left a bit to be desired causing us to break out our gas stove for the first time. The trails get busy as this is an accessible spot.

Very nice place, BIG reception for all worldwide tourists, has a nice cafe not to much on menu, a beautiful river running through the place good for swimming fishing & camping. The falls walk is the shortest best walk in Tassie leading to a magnificent waterfall. Also a nice drive coming from Hobart.

From here, It's well worth continuing on to the next attraction, Horseshoe Falls, which are beautiful. After this it's not much further to an offshoot of the main track, the very beautiful Tall Trees Walk, which rejoins the main track at its end.

Lady Barron Falls were very pretty, but not as nice as Russell and Horseshoe Falls and (in our opinion) not worth the effort it took to get there, although people who are physically fit and love hiking would probably disagree. If we do this again, we'll definitely opt to take the road back.

The waterfalls are spectacular and Dodson lake is pretty. Cold for most people so bring a jacket, although I was fine.
